Art mediation is an educational practice aimed at establishing a dialogue between the viewer and the work of art. The mediation specialist initiates a free exchange of opinions and personal feelings, contributing to a deeper and more accessible perception of art by a wider audience.
This practice is actively developing in Russian art institutions, but specifically youth formats are still rare. We have aimed to change this - to give young people the opportunity not just to learn, but to become full participants in museum life, creating lively and emotionally rich tours.
Within the framework of the school, young participants, under the guidance of the museum and invited specialists, learned the key principles of art-mediation, learned to conduct a dialogue about complex and ambiguous works and develop their own tours.
The first course took place between 21st and 28th July 2025.
The next one to follow in the late 2025 or the early 2026.
Young people aged 15 to 22 are welcome.
