We invite you on a fascinating tour of the exhibition Collection of Nikolai and Georgy Botka. Two Generations of Art Collectors, which for the first time demonstrates one of the most significant private Petersburg collections of the last century art. The grandiose exposition, occupying the entire space of the museum, is characterised by an amazing thematic and stylistic diversity, and the list of famous names strikes the imagination.
Paintings, graphic and sculptural masterpieces reflecting the events and spirit of the complex and controversial XX century will allow the guests of the museum to take a new look at the national culture. The works of famous artists from the 1920s–1940s who worked both in Russia – Pavel Radimov, Georgy Rublev, Vladimir Grinberg, and in emigration – Alexander Benois, Marevna, Konstantin Kuznetsov, as well as of classical realists from the post-war period – Boris Ugarov, Vyacheslav Zagonek - are presented.
A special tribute at the exhibition, however, is paid to the art of the 1960s–1980s, which forms the basis of the collection. Here are the “stars” of the severe style - Petr Ossovsky, Pavel Nikonov, Nikolai Andronov, as well as outstanding artists from the seventies – Zaven Arshakuni, Tatiana Nazarenko, Natalia Nesterova, Vitaly Tiulenev, as well as famous nonconformist artists – Oscar Rabin, Lidia Masterkova, Vladimir Nemukhin, Gleb Bogomolov.
