Museum of 20th¬¬¬¬-21st Century Art of St Petersburg and its educational team invite visitors to a new lecture course dedicated to the history of world art from ancient times to the present day. The second study session will be dedicated to the Iron Age art!

The Iron Age presented modern museum collections with a lot of... gold. Let us understand how this paradox came to be. At the lecture Origins: Primeval Art. The History of Iron and Gold visitors will learn how ancient civilisations originated and died out, get acquainted with the most interesting monuments of the time and learn to understand their symbolism. At the end of the study session we shall look at how contemporary artists interpret and develop the figurative language of their distant predecessors from the mysterious Iron Age.
