Educational programmes for children aim to introduce young visitors to various forms of contemporary St Petersburg art in a playful way.
MASP activities for kids:
Workshops – these are combined with short exhibition tours, games, making collages and drawings, or hand-crafting other objects based on the museum artworks;
Quests in the exhibition space – the children can play on their own or with adult supervision;
Interactive Guided Tours – conducted by experienced museum educators. Information about the collection and different genres and forms of St Petersburg contemporary fine art is presented in a lively and playful way. The activities are accompanied by the MASP characters (a boy called Mispik and a girl called Mispochka) and comic books, developed by the museum specialists, – this is to make the material easier to grasp visually;
The Summer Arts Camp, which MASP arranges during the summer months, consists of a few days of intensive classes at the museum, accompanied by games and creative workshops;
The Art Walks around St Petersburg consist of five classes, designed for children aged 7 to 12. Packages are also available if children wish to participate in more than one class;
