Guided Tour of The Current Exhibitions for Silver Age Visitors

Museum visitors will explore at the guided tour the works by Oskar Klever (1887–1975), Mikhail Yershov (1901–1982), Robert Lotosh (b. 1953) and Rashid Dominov (b. 1946). Theatrical and fairy-tale themes will be leitmotifs of our journey into the world of art, as well as the notion of matching fantastic and real by an artist.

The exhibition The Dream – White Horse is the first project in the history of Russian art, covering the oeuvre of theatre artist and book illustrator Oskar Klever. The visitors will learn unusual facts from his biography, will be introduced to the history of deportation of ethnic Germans during the Great Patriotic War and to rare photographic material, as well as get immersed in the atmosphere of XX century theatre life and explore the artist's graphic masterpieces – illustrations for Andersen's fairy tales and surrealist series Ghosts.

Further, at the exhibition Stories of Everyday Life of the sculptor Robert Lotosh, visitors will enjoy the charm of everyday things looking at the works that combine images of ancient mythology and familiar modernity. We will see gods and heroes, such as Heracles and Aphrodite, represented as characters of the XXI century.

The exhibition The Reverse Address of Rashid Dominov, one of the most remarkable St Petersburg artists of the last three decades, will allow viewers to plunge into the enchanting Renaissance era and the aesthetics of Oriental art. The artist's works, full of beauty and sensuality, recreate an amazing mixture of fantasy and reality.

Solo exhibition There is Just a Moment of the painter and graphic artist Mikhail Yershov will introduce the visitors to peaceful landscapes of the 1940s, revealing the theme of lyrical worldview.
