Dominov’s works at the Return Address exhibition carry the spectator to the world of dreams, childhood memories and reveries about the magical worlds of the past. The artist effortlessly rhymes times and epochs, connects different facets of existence and creates polysemic images based of allusions. In his art, he organically combines the language of scenography, elements of oriental miniatures, plasticity of the Early Renaissance and the philosophy of symbolism. Paintings, easel drawings, illustrations for Indian Tales, Machiavelli’s treatise The Sovereign, presented at the exhibition, are a kind of artistic memoirs of sensations, consisting of separate novels, each of these reviving in visible images of long-gone times, epochs of fairy-tale plays, where heroes live a leisurely life and huge stars light up in the sky.
