Studied at the J. Rosenthal Art School in Riga (1960–1967); the T. Zalkalns State Academy of Arts in Riga (1968–1969); Leningrad Civil Engineering and Construction Institute (1976–1980). Exhibited from 1976. Member of the Mansard 67 association (1976– 1990), IFA (1985), the Artists’ Union of Russia (1996). Worked as an artist at the State Puppet Theatre of the Latvian SSR (1970–1973), the Theatre of the House of Officers of the Moscow Military Okrug (1976–1981), the Art and Design Workshops, Leningrad (from 1980). Main collections: State Museum of the History of St Petersburg, State Russian Museum (both St Petersburg); National Museum of Art (Osaka, Japan).
