Studied at the Art Studio of the A. D. Tsiurupa Palace of Culture (1961–1963); Leningrad Art College (1963– 1968) under A. P. Zaitsev and S. P. Mosevich; G. Ya. Dlugach’s Hermitage School (1968–1973). Exhibited since 1974. Member of the Photographers’ Union of Russia (1994), the International Association of Writers and Publicists (2005). Worked as an artist for the magazine Posev (Sowing, 1985–1994). Lived and worked in Leningrad (1952–1978) before emigrating, lived in Austria, Italy and the USA, since 1985 in Wiesbaden, Germany.
