Studied Studied at V. N. Korbakov’s studio in Vologda (1960–1962); Leningrad Higher College of Art and Design (1962–1964) in the Department of Monumental and Decorative Painting. Exhibited since 1977. Member of the USSR Union of Artists (1978), the Stena (Wall) association (1990). Worked as an artist at the Arts and Design Workshops of the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Art Fund (1968–1996), the poster publishing house Plakat (1984–1987). Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation (2007); academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (2017). Awarded the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts (2017). Lives and works in St Petersburg (since 1962). Main collections: Memorial Museum of Space Exploration, State Library of Russia, State Museum of the History of Russian Literature (all Moscow), Museum of Nonconformist Art, State Museum of the History of St Petersburg, State Museum of the Political History of Russia, State Museum of Theatre and Music, State Russian Museum (all St Petersburg), Kazan National Cultural Centre, Cherepovets Museum Association, State art museums in Kaliningrad, Vologda and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
