Graphic artist, painter, sculptor, theatre designer, writer
Studied at Leningrad Secondary School of Art (1947–1954); the Repin Institute of Arts (1954–1960) in the Faculty of Graphic Art under A. F. Pakhomov. Exhibited from 1956. Member of the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Union of Artists (1960), the USSR Union of Journalists. Worked as an artist for the magazines Boevoi karandash (Fighting Pencil), Koster (Bonfire), Neva, Murzilka, Veselye kartinki (Funny Cartoon Pictures) and others (1950–1986); chief artist of the magazine Aurora (1969–1972); an artist in the publishing houses Iskusstvo (Art), Khudozhnik RSFSR, Detskaia literatura (Children’s Literature), Khudozhestvennaia literatura (Fiction) and others (1956–1986). Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation (2003). Awarded the Silver Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts (2003).
