Studied at VKhUTEIN, Pg-L (1926–1929) under K. S. Petrov-Vodkin, N. I. Altman; Academie Moderne in Paris, France (1929–1930) under F. Léger. Exhibited from 1923. Member of the associations ONTI (Association of New Art Trends, 1922–1923), Krug khudozhnikov (Circle of Artists, 1929), Union of Soviet Artists (1932). Worked in the Experimental Printing Workshop of the Leningrad Branch of the Union of Soviet Artists (from 1936); as a designer in the Kazan Bolshoi Drama Theatre (1941–1944).
