Painter, graphic artist, sculptor, installation artist
Studied at Leningrad Secondary School of Art (1964–1971); the Repin Institute of Arts (1971–1977) in the Faculty of Painting under V. M. Oreshnikov; the Creative Workshop of the USSR Academy of Arts (1979–1982) under V. M. Oreshnikov. Exhibited from 1976. Member of the USSR Union of Artists (1981), the Russian Geographical Society (1984), сo-organiser and member of the Poslednii kit (The Last Whale) art group (1988), member of IFA (2002). Participated in four Arctic expeditions (1976–1987) and one Antarctica expedition (2010–2011). Main collections: State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), Russian State Museum of the Arctic and Antarctica, State Museum of the History of St Petersburg, State Russian Museum (all St Petersburg), State Museum of Artistic Culture of the Novgorod Land (Veliky Novgorod), State art museums in Arkhangelsk, Belgorod, Irbit, Tyumen and Vologda; Grenen Kunstmuseum (Skagen, Denmark), Museum of Modern Art (Arnhem, Netherlands).
