Studied at Leningrad Secondary School of Art (1948– 1951) under V. N. Kitaigorodskaia; Leningrad Art College (1951–1952) in the Faculty of Sculpture under V. I. Sychev; the Estonian SSR State Institute of Arts, Tallinn (1952–1954) under A. A. Kaasik; the Repin Institute of Arts (1954–1957) in the Faculty of Sculpture under D. M. Yepifanov, M. A. Kerzin and I. V. Krestovsky. Exhibited from 1957. Member of the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Union of Artists (1958), the Gruppa “Odinnadtsati” (Group of “Eleven”) association (1972). Lived and worked in Leningrad (1934–1988), emigrated and settled in Boston (USA, 1988). Received grants from the US Pollock-Krasner (1989) and Ludwig Vogelstein (1990) Foundations. Prize-winner at the 6th World Festival of Youth and Students (1957). Main collections: State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), Institute of Russian Literature, State Literary and Memorial Museum of Anna Akhmatova at the Fountain House, State Museum of the History of St Petersburg, State Museum of Theatre and Music, State Museum of Urban Sculpture, State Russian Museum (all St Petersburg), Novosibirsk State Art Museum, Perm State Art Gallery.
