Studied at Odessa Art College (1915–1917); Saratov State Free Art Workshops – VKhUTEMAS – Higher Artistic and Practical Institute (1918– 1921) under F. I. Konstantinov, A. Ye. Karev and A. I. Savinov. Exhibited from 1919. Member of the associations Obiedinenie khudozhnikov novogo iskusstva (Association of Creators of New Art, 1919), Obschestvo prezantistov (Society of Presentists, 1920–1922), Krug khudozhnikov (Circle of Artists, 1926–1932), VSERABIS (All- Russian Trade Union of Art Workers, 1927–1929), the Union of Soviet Artists (1932). Taught at the Higher Artistic and Practical Institute, Saratov (1920–1922); VKhUTEIN, Pg–L – Repin Institute of Arts (1922–1926, 1929–1936); the Fine Arts Studios for Working Youth (1926–1929); Leningrad College of Art and Design (1929–1932). Creator of monumental works for public buildings in Leningrad. Worked in the Experimental Printing Studio of the Leningrad Branch of the Union of Soviet Artists (1933–1941). Main collections: ROSIZO (Moscow), State Literary and Memorial Museum of Anna Akhmatova at the Fountain House, State Russian Museum (both St Petersburg), State art museums in Arkhangelsk, Cheboksary, Krasnoarmeysk, Saratov and Vladikavkaz.
