Studied at VKhUTEIN, Pg–L (1925–1930) in the Faculty of Graphic Art under V. M. Konashevich, Ye. S. Kruglikova and D. I. Mitrokhin. Exhibited from 1931. Member of the Gruppa zhivopisno-plasticheskogo realizma (Group of Painterly Plasticity Realism) association (1927–1933), the USSR Union of Soviet Artists (1941). Worked as an artist for the Detgiz, Goslitizdat, Lenizdat, Sovetskii pisatel (Soviet Writer), Iskusstvo (Art) and other publishing houses (from 1927). Main collections: A. S. Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts (Moscow), State Museum of the Political History of Russia, State Museum of Urban Sculpture, State Russian Museum, Tsarskoe Selo Collection Museum (all St Petersburg), State art museums in Khabarovsk, Khimki, Perm, Tula and Vyatka.
