Studied at the Provincial Art School, Orel (1921–1923) under G. I. Redkin; VKhUTEIN, Pg–L (1923–1929) in the Faculty of Painting under K. S. Petrov-Vodkin, A. I. Savinov and V. Ye. Savinsky; INPII – Repin Institute of Arts (1931–1933) as a postgraduate. Exhibited from 1929. Member of OMAKhR (1929), Association of Artists of the Revolution (1930–1932), the Union of Soviet Artists (1932), Lenizo (1933–1941). Worked as assistant set painter in the Theatre of Miniatures, Leningrad (early 1920s), artist in the Red Army Studio (1920–1922), the Industrial Art Studios of the Orel Sixth Rifle Division (1922– 1923), the Historical Museum of Artillery – created the Borodino and Perekop dioramas (1936), designed city celebrations in Leningrad (1929–1941) and pavilions of the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition (1939), artist in Lenizo (1945–1954). Taught at a studio attached to the Association of Artists of the Revolution (1929–1930), at the courses at VKhUTEIN, Pg–L (1929–1930). WWII veteran, awarded the Order of the Red Star, medals For the Defence of Leningrad and For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945.
