Studied at Leningrad Secondary School of Art (1939–1942, 1944–1951); the Repin Institute of Arts (1951– 1957) in the Faculty of Graphic Art under M. A. Taranov; the Old Peterhof School — Sterligov School (1963–1973). Exhibited from 1958. Member of the USSR Union of Artists (1959), IFA (1991), the Free Culture Humanitarian Foundation (1993), 17 April Association (1998). Worked as an artist for the Khudozhestvennaia literatura (Fiction), Detskaia literatura (Children’s Literature), Inostrannaia literatura (Foreign Literature) and Sovetskii pisatel (Soviet Writer) publishing houses (1960 – early 1990s). Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation (2002).
