Studied at Leningrad Secondary School of Art (1936–1939); the Repin Institute of Arts (1939–1941, 1945–1950) in the Faculty of Painting under B. V. Ioganson, A. A. Osmerkin, A. D. Zaitsev, G. V. Pavlovsky and G. A. Savinov. Exhibited from 1939. Member of the Leningrad Union of Soviet Artists (1950), the Gruppa “Odinnadtsati” (Group of “Eleven”) association (1972). Taught at Leningrad Art College (1950–1958). Main collections: Moscow Museum of Modern Art, ROSIZO (both Moscow), State Museum of the History of St Petersburg, State Russian Museum (both St Petersburg), State art museums in Arkhangelsk, Irbit, Karaganda, Kazan, Murmansk, Vologda, Yoshkar-Ola and others.
