Studied at Moscow Institute of Printing Trade (1939–1942); Moscow Architectural Institute (1942– 1944); Leningrad State University (1950–1955) in the Faculty of Philosophy. Exhibited from 1962. Member of the USSR Union of Artists (1962). Headed a team of artists at the Vsekokhudozhnik union (Moscow), worked as an artist-editor at the Detgiz publishing house (1945–1949), a set painter at the Leningrad Comedy Theatre (from 1949). Teacher of drawing, head of a village school in Moscow Region (1941–1942); teacher, head of the Visual Propaganda Art School at the House of Political Education affiliated with the CPSU Regional Committee (1962–1983); taught at the Repin Institute of Arts (1980s). Honoured Culture Worker of the RSFSR (1982). WWII veteran, awarded the medal For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945.
