Studied at Pavlovsky Posad art studio (1926) under V. Rachinsky; the Repin Institute of Arts (1932–1935) in the Workers’ Faculty under A. D. Zaitsev; the Repin Institute of Arts (1935–1940) in the Faculty of Painting under B. V. Ioganson and A. I. Savinov. Exhibited from 1939. Member of the Leningrad Union of Soviet Artists (1944). Worked as an artist at the House of Officers of Leningrad Okrug (1943–1945); at the M. B. Grekov Studio of Military Artists (1953–1963). Taught at the Repin Institute of Arts (1940), assistant to B. V. Ioganson; at Leningrad Higher College of Art and Design (1948–1951). Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation (1997). WWII veteran, awarded the Order of the Red Star, the Order of the Patriotic War 1st class, medals For the Defence of Leningrad and For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945.
