Studied at Odessa University (1918–1920) in the Faculty of Natural History; Odessa State Free Art Workshops – Institute of Fine Arts (1918–1923) under P. G. Volokidin and T. Ya. Dvornikov; VKhUTEMAS, Pg – VKhUTEIN, Pg–L (1923– 1927) under K. S. Petrov-Vodkin and A. I. Savinov. Exhibited from 1924. Member of Lenizo (1935–1941), the USSR Union of Artists (1945–1949 expelled, reinstated 1953). Worked as an artist at the Gosizdat publishing house in the children’s and youth literature department (1929–1930s). Drawing teacher at the secondary school No. 22 in Vasileostrovsky District of Leningrad (1947–1950s). Main collections: State Literary and Memorial Museum of Anna Akhmatova at the Fountain House, State Museum of the History of St Petersburg, State Russian Museum (all St Petersburg), I. I. Mashkov Volgograd Museum of Fine Arts, Yekaterinburg Museum of Fine Arts, Staraya Ladoga Museum- Reserve of History, Architecture and Archaeology.
