Painter, graphic artist
Studied at Leningrad Secondary School of Art (1963–1970); the Repin Institute of Arts (1970–1972) in the Faculty of Graphic Art; Leningrad Higher College of Art and Design (1972–1974) in the Faculty of Industrial Art, taking the course Basics of Abstract Composition. Exhibited since 1972. Member of the Leningrad City Committee of Artists (1977), the Association of Experimental Fine Art (1982), the St Petersburg Academy of Contemporary Art association (1995). Worked as an artist for the magazines Aurora, Koster (Bonfire, 1980s), editor-inchief of the magazine Sobaka.ru (1999–2005). Lives and works in St Petersburg (since 1953). Main collections: S. P. Diaghilev Museum of Contemporary Art, State Hermitage, State Museum of the History of St Petersburg, State Museum of Theatre and Music, State Russian Museum (all St Petersburg), State art museums in Khanty-Mansiysk, Vladivostok; Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam, Netherlands), Zimmerli Art Museum (New Brunswick, USA).
