Studied at Yerevan Art College (1969–1973); the Kh. Abovian Pedagogical Institute in Yerevan (1973–1974); the studio of the sculptor G. G. Chubarian (1974–1977); Leningrad Higher College of Art and Design (1980–1985) in the Department of Monumental and Decorative Sculpture under V. L. Rybalko. Exhibited since 1983. Member of the USSR Union of Artists (1985). Creator of monuments to K. E. Tsiolkovsky (2005) and Komitas (2015) in St Petersburg. Teaches at Leningrad Higher College of Art and Design – St Petersburg State Academy of Art and Design (since 1987), Associate Professor (2000). Lives and works in St Petersburg (since 1977).
