Studied at PGSKhUM (1918–1920) under V. V. Lebedev and V. I. Denisov; VKhUTEIN, Pg–L (1922–1927) in the Department of Painting under K. S. Petrov-Vodkin. Exhibited from 1926. Member of the Leningrad Branch of the Union of Soviet Artists (1939). Worked at a fabric painting workshop under V. V. Lebedev (1930s); for the magazines Yezh (Hedgehog), Chizh (Siskin), Murzilka, for the Detgiz, Uchpedgiz and Lenizdat publishing houses (1930s); in the Experimental Printing Studio affiliated with the Leningrad Branch of the Union of Soviet Artists (from 1936).
