Studied at the Higher College of Art and Design, Leningrad (1964–1969), in the Department of Artistic Textile. Exhibited since 1970. Member of the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Union of Artists (1976), founding member of the group Ptishot (1997), member of the association the Beznadezhnye zhivopistsy (Hopeless Painters, 2005). Honoured Artist of Russia (2012). Awarded the Silver Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts (2009). Main collections: All-Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art, Tsaritsyno State Museum-Reserve (Moscow), State Museum of the History of St Petersburg, State Russian Museum, Tsarskoe Selo Collection Museum (St Petersburg), State art museums in Murmansk and Samara; B. K. Rudnev Municipal Art Museum (Lebedin, Ukraine).
