Painter
Studied at Leningrad Art College (1949–1950); Leningrad Secondary School of Art (1950–1953); the Repin Institute of Arts (1953–1959) in the Faculty of Painting under B. V. Ioganson. Exhibited from 1959. Member of the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Union of Artists (1961), the Gruppa “Odinnadtsati” (Group of “Eleven”) association (1972). Worked as an artist at the Arts and Design Workshops of the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Art Fund (1956–1961). Taught at Leningrad Pedagogical College of Art and Graphic Design (1963– 1964); Leningrad Higher College of Art and Design (1963–1967). Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation (2007), Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts (2007). Awarded the Silver Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts (1999). Main collections: ROSIZO, State Tretyakov Gallery (both Moscow), Research Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts, State Russian Museum, Tsarskoe Selo Collection Museum (all St Petersburg), State art museums in Arkhangelsk, Bryansk, Ivanovo, Kirov, Vladivostok, Vologda, Yekaterinburg and others; Slovak National Gallery (Bratislava), Albertinum (Dresden, Germany), Museum Ludwig (Cologne, Germany).
