Studied at the Repin Institute of Arts in the preparatory courses (1935–1937) under V. S. Bogatyrev and G. A. Shults, and in the Faculty of Sculpture (1937–1947) under A. T. Matveev and V. A. Sinaisky. Exhibited from 1947. Member of the USSR Union of Artists (1947). Main collections: State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), All-Russian Museum of A. S. Pushkin, State Museum of the History of St Petersburg, State Museum of Urban Sculpture, State Russian Museum (all St Petersburg), State art museums in Vologda and Kostroma.
