Studied at Vitebsk People’s Art College (from 1920) under Yu. M. Pen; VKhUTEMAS, M – VKhUTEIN, M (1925–1928) under R. R. Falk. Exhibited from the early 1920s. Member of the associations ROST (1928–1930), Krug khudozhnikov (Circle of Artists, 1930–1932), the Union of Soviet Artists (1932). WWII veteran, awarded the Order of the Red Star, medals For the Defence of Leningrad, For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945.
