Studied at Yerevan Art College in the Department of Painting; the Repin Institute of Arts (1936– 1940, 1957–1960) in the Faculty of Painting under R. R. Frents, A. A. Osmerkin, A. A. Mylnikov and V. M. Oreshnikov. Exhibited from 1940. Member of the USSR Union of Artists (1962). Worked as designer at the I. A. Abelian State Drama Theatre in Kirovakan, Armenian SSR (1948–1951) and the Tambov Regional Drama Theatre (1951–1957). Taught at Leningrad Higher College of Art and Design (1965–1978). Main collections: Tsarskoe Selo Collection Museum (St Petersburg), Chuvash State Art Museum (Cheboksary), Smolensk State Museum- Reserve; National Gallery of Armenia (Yerevan, Armenia).
