Studied at Leningrad Higher College of Art and Design (1968–1973) in the Department of Monumental and Decorative Sculpture under V. G. Kozeniuk, V. V. Pirker and V. L. Rybalko. Exhibited since 1975. Member of the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Union of Artists (1980), founder and member of the Ozerki – Derevnia khudozhnikov (Artists’ Village) association (1989). Creator of monumental works in St Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Vladikavkaz, Almaty (Kazakhstan), Aarhus, Holstebro (both Denmark) and other cities. Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation (2013). Awarded the Silver Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts (2012). Lives and works in St Petersburg.
