Studied at Yerevan College of Applied Art (1971–1973); the Kh. A. Abovian State Pedagogical Institute in Yerevan (1975–1977); the Repin Institute of Arts, as an external student (1978–1981) in the Faculty of Painting under Yu. M. Neprintsev, B. S. Ugarov and V. G. Valtsev. Exhibited since 1981. Member of the Artists’ Union of Russia (1993), the Artists’ Union of Romania (1998). Co-founder (1999) and editor-in-chief (since 2001) of the newspaper Khudozhnik Peterburga (Petersburg Artist). Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation (2020). Lives and works in St Petersburg (since 1977). Main collections: Collection of St Catherine’s Armenian Apostolic Church (St Petersburg); Holy Etchmiadzin Monastery Museum (Vagharshapat, Armenia), Museum of the History of Yerevan (Armenia), National Art Museum of Belarus (Minsk, Belarus), Shandong Wen Cai Art Museum (Rizhao, China).
