Studied in Professor V. Ye. Savinsky’s studio (1928–1930); the Art College affiliated with the Fine Art Workshops for Working Youth, Leningrad (1932–1934) under G. N. Traugot. Exhibited from 1940. Member of the Union of Soviet Artists (1941). Worked at the Detgiz publishing house, Chizh (Siskin) and Koster (Bonfire) magazines (1937–1941), in the Boevoi karandash (Fighting Pencil) association (1939–1940). Served as an artist of the Publishing Department at the Political Administration of the North-Western and 2nd Belorussian Fronts (1941–1945). Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation (2004). WWII veteran, awarded medals For Merit in Battle (twice), For the Liberation of Warsaw, For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945.
