Studied at the Art Studio of the Rybinsk Proletkult (1919–1920) under M. M. Scheglov and P. T. Gorbunov; the State Training Workshops for the Decorative Arts (1921–1922); VKhUTEIN, Pg–L (1922– 1926) under A. Ye. Karev, A. I. Savinov, M. V. Matiushin; P. N. Filonov’s studio (1925– 1932); K. I. Rozhdestvensky’s studio (1932–1936), following K. S. Malevich’s system. Exhibited from 1927. Member of the associations Masters of Analytical Art (1925–1929), the Old Peterhof School – Sterligov School (1963–1965). Worked as a curator at Rybinsk Museum of History and Art (1920–1921); an artist in the publishing houses Gosizdat, Lenizdat, Molodaia gvardiia (Young Guard), Detgiz, Uchpedgiz and others (1930– 1959) and for the magazines Ezh (Hedgehog) and Chizh (Siskin, 1931–1934); a set designer at the Maly Opera Theatre (1932) together with T. N. Glebova. WWII veteran, awarded the Order of the Red Star, medals For Merit in Battle, For the Defence of Leningrad, For the Capture of Königsberg, For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945.
