Studied at Leningrad Secondary School of Art (1949– 1956); Leningrad State Theatre Institute as an undergraduate (1956–1961) in the Faculty of Theatre Production under N. P. Akimov and T. G. Bruni, and a post-graduate (1962–1966) under N. P. Akimov. Exhibited from 1970. Member of the USSR Union of Artists (1961). Worked as chief production designer in the Northern Fleet Theatre in Murmansk, the Baltic Fleet Theatre in Liepaja, the Oktiabrsky Concert Hall in Leningrad; production designer in Kostroma, Volgograd and Pskov drama theatres and elsewhere (late 1950s–1970s); production designer at the Leningrad Television Studio (1960s); in the Diorama and Model Workshop affiliated with the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Union of Artists (1977– 1991). Creator of monumental works in Moscow, Leningrad, Saratov, Cherkessk, Bryansk, Murmansk, Arkhangelsk and other cities. Academician of the G. R. Derzhavin Academy of Russian Literature and Fine Arts (2004). Main collections: ROSIZO (Moscow), State Museum of the History of St Petersburg, State Museum of Theatre and Music (both St Petersburg), State art museums in Bryansk and Murmansk.
