Painter
Studied at Penza Art College (1938–1942) under I. S. Goriushkin-Sorokopudov; Leningrad Art and Graphic Design College (1948–1952). Exhibited from 1960. Member of the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Union of Artists (1960). Taught at Leningrad College of Light Industry (1952–1970). Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation (1999), People’s Artist of the Russian Federation (2008). Academician of the Petrovskaia Academy of Sciences and Arts (2005), Honourary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts (2009). Awarded the Silver Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts (2005). WWII veteran, awarded the Order of the Red Star, the Order of the Patriotic War 1st class, medals For Courage, For the Liberation of Warsaw, For the Capture of Berlin, For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945. Main collections: State Museum of the History of St Petersburg, State Russian Museum (both St Petersburg), State art museums in Kurgan, Murmansk and Rostov.
