Sculptor, artist of objects, installations and performances
Studied at Leningrad Higher College of Art and Design (1975–1980) in the Department of Monumental and Decorative Sculpture. Exhibited since 1971. Member of the USSR Union of Artists (1984), the Free Culture Humanitarian Foundation (1992), the “New Blockheads” Brotherhood group (1996–2001), co-founder and member of the PARAZIT association (2004). Worked as a sculptor in the Mordovian Branch of the RSFSR Art Fund, Saransk (1980–1988). Taught at Saransk Art College (1980–1988). Lives and works in St Petersburg (since 1988). Main collections: Central Museum of Communications, National Library of Russia, State Literary and Memorial Museum of Anna Akhmatova at the Fountain House, State Russian Museum, Tsarskoe Selo Collection Museum (all St Petersburg), PERMM Contemporary Art Museum (Perm), Tosno Museum of History and Local History, State art museums in Saransk and Yelabuga.
