Studied at Yaroslavl Art College (1947–1949); Leningrad Art College (1949–1950); the Repin Institute of Arts (1950– 1956) in the Faculty of Painting under Yu. M. Neprintsev; the Creative Workshop of the USSR Academy of Arts (1961–1963) under V. M. Oreshnikov. Exhibited from 1956. Member of the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Union of Artists (1957). Honoured Artist of the Komi ASSR (1971), Honoured Artist of the RSFSR (1978), People’s Artist of the Komi ASSR (1982), People’s Artist of the RSFSR (1987). Main collections: Research Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts, State Museum of the History of St Petersburg, State Museum of the Political History of Russia (all St Petersburg), State art museums in Arkhangelsk, Bryansk, Lipetsk, Novosibirsk, Smolensk, Syktyvkar, Veliky Novgorod and others.
