Studied at I. L. Kopylov’s State Art Studio, Irkutsk (1919–1924); VKhUTEIN, Pg–L (1925–1930) in the Faculty of Painting under K. S. Petrov- Vodkin, A. A. Rylov and A. Ye. Karev. Exhibited from 1935. Member of the Masters of Analytical Art association (early 1930s), the Union of Soviet Artists (1935). Worked as an artist in the Detgiz, ONTI (Associated Scientific and Technical Publishing House), Lenizdat, Detskaia literatura (Children’s Literature) publishing houses (1935–1959); the Experimental Printing Workshop of the Leningrad Branch of the Union of Soviet Artists (from 1938); the Boevoi karandash (Fighting Pencil) association (1941–1945); for the magazine Koster (Bonfire, 1940s). Main collections: State Literary and Memorial Museum of Anna Akhmatova at the Fountain House, State Museum of the History of St Petersburg (both St Petersburg), V. I. Surikov Art Museum (Krasnoyarsk), Saratov Regional Museum of Local History.
