Studied at Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinema (1958–1963) in the Faculty of Theatre Production under N. P. Akimov. Exhibited at the "apartment exhibitions" since the second half of the 1950s, at the first official one - in 1964. Worked as an artist at Lenizdat and Sovetskii pisatel (Soviet Writer) publishing houses (1960s); production designer in theatres in Leningrad, Moscow and Volkhov (1960s). Creator of mosaics for the Anagnina metro station in Rome (1997). Academician of the Pietro Vannucci Academy of Arts in Perugia, Italy (1993). Lived and worked in Leningrad (1933– 1972), then in Moscow, before emigrating to Italy in 1976. Main collections: A. S.
