Architect, graphic artist, painter, object and installation artist
Studied at the Repin Institute of Arts (1946–1952) in the Faculty of Architecture under S. V. Vasilkovsky. Candidate of Sciences (Architecture, 1984). Exhibited from 1945. Member of the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Union of Architects (1956), the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Union of Artists (1959). Worked as an architect at the institutes Mosproekt (1952– 1954) and Gipromashpribor (1954–1955); chief artist at the Graphic Art Workshops of the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Art Fund (1964–1965); master of designs for urban spaces in Leningrad, Voronezh, Sverdlovsk and Arkhangelsk (1970s–1980s). Taught at Leningrad Civil Engineering and Construction Institute – St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (1965–1998), Professor (1990). Academician of the Russian Academy of Humanities (1994). Main collections: State Central Museum of the Modern History of Russia (Moscow), All-Russian Museum of A. S. Pushkin, State Russian Museum (both St Petersburg), State art museums in Ivanovo, Kazan, Kursk, Magnitogorsk, Novokuznetsk, Volgograd, Voronezh and others.
