Studied at the Moscow State College of Fine Arts in Memory of the 1905 Uprising (1930–1934); at the Repin Institute of Arts (1939–1948) in the Faculty of Painting under A. A. Osmerkin and M. P. Bobyshov. Exhibited from 1948. Member of the USSR Union of Artists (1952). Worked as a production designer at the Bolshoi Drama Theatre, Pushkin Theatre, the Lenin Komsomol State Theatre, all in Leningrad, G. Sundukyan State Academic Theatre in Yerevan, the State Russian Drama Theatre of the Estonian SSR in Tallinn, etc. Main collections: ROSIZO (Moscow), State Museum of Theatre and Music, State Literary and Memorial Museum of F. M. Dostoevsky (both St Petersburg), State art museums in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Krasnokamsk, Sevastopol, Tyumen.
