Studied at the Drawing School of the Imperial Society for the Encouragement of Arts (1916–1918); at PGSKhUM – VKhUTEIN, Pg–L (1919–1925) under A. A. Rylov, K. S. Petrov- Vodkin, O. E. Braz, V. Ye. Savinsky and V. N. Meshkov; in A. F. Bely’s studio (1922). Exhibited from 1923. Member of the associations Obschina khudozhnikov (Commune of Artists, 1925– 1932), Krug khudozhnikov (Circle of Artists, 1926–1930), the Union of Soviet Artists (1932). Worked as an artist for the newspaper Smena (The Rising Generation, 1930–1935); at the Leningrad office of the Baltproekt Bureau affiliated with the Central Administrative Board of Railway Construction (1941); the State Committee for the Protection of Architectural Monuments in Leningrad (1945); in publishing houses (1949–1951); at Leningrad Scientific Restoration Workshops (1952–1956). Taught at Leningrad Art College (1946–1948). Main collections: State Museum of the History of St Petersburg, State Russian Museum (both St Petersburg), State art museums in Bryansk, Khanty- Mansiysk, Novokuznetsk, Perm, Ulyanovsk and Volgograd.
