Studied at Petersburg Sixth Gymnasium (graduated in 1905); at the Imperial University, St Petersburg (1905–1912), in the Faculty of Law; at the Drawing School of the Society for the Encouragement of Arts (c. 1911–1912); at the VKhUTEIN, Pg-L (1923-1924) under S. V. Priselkov. Worked as a labourer at Krasny Vyborzhets Leningrad factory, as a timekeeper and rate-setter at the Krasnyi gvozdilschik and Svoboda factories (1920s–1930s). Was evacuated to Yaroslavl from besieged Leningrad (1942). Veteran of WWI (1914–1918) and the Civil War (1918–1923). Main collections: Museum of the History of N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg Conservatoire (St Petersburg), Novgorod State Integrated Museum-Reserve.
