Studied at Leningrad Art College (1967–1971). Exhibited since 1973. Member of the USSR Union of Artists (1978), the Association of Art Critics (1998). Works as an artist for the publishing houses Redkaia kniga iz Sankt-Peterburga (Rare Books from St Petersburg, since 1993) and Vita Nova (2007– 2009). Creator and teacher of the Kraski dobra (Colours of Kindness) educational programme for children (since 1998). Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation (2007); Honourary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts (2015). Lives and works in St Petersburg. Main collections: A. S.
