Studied at the Art Workshops affiliated with the School for Visiting Students of the Imperial Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Petrograd (1921–1922) under V. V. Lishev; VKhUTEMAS, Pg – VKhUTEIN, Pg–L (1922–1926) in the Faculty of Sculpture under A. T. Matveev. Exhibited from 1928. Member of the associations Krug khudozhnikov (Circle of Artists, 1928–1929), October, Leningrad Association of Proletarian Artists, the USSR Union of Soviet Artists. Taught at the Institute of the Peoples of the North affiliated with the USSR Central Executive Committee, Leningrad (1928–1931); the Repin Institute of Arts (1930–1933); head of the Experimental Sculpture Workshop at the Institute of the Peoples of the North (1934–1941); taught at Leningrad Higher College of Art and Design (1949–1955). Main collections: Peterhof State Museum-Reserve, State Russian Museum (both St Petersburg), Novosibirsk State Art Museum.
