Studied at the Institute of Extracurricular Education, Petrograd (1919) in the Department of Museum Studies; VKhUTEMAS, Pg – VKhUTEIN, Pg–L (1921–1926) under K. S. Petrov-Vodkin, A. Ye. Karev and A. I. Savinov; P. N. Filonov’s studio (1925–1930). Exhibited from 1927. Member of the Masters of Analytical Art association (1925–1930), the Union of Soviet Artists (1934). Worked at the Porkhov Museum, Pskov Province (1920), as an artist-decorator in the Masters of Analytical Art group at Leningrad House of the Press (1927), for the Detgiz publishing house (1930s). Taught at Leningrad College of Art and Design (1926), Leningrad Art College (1943–1946), Leningrad Higher College of Art and Design (1946–1958). Main collections: National Library of Russia, State Museum of the History of St Petersburg, State Russian Museum, Tsarskoe Selo Collection Museum (all St Petersburg), Shushenskoe Museum-Reserve of History and Ethnography (Krasnoyarsk Territory), State art museums in Bryansk, Kaliningrad, Krasnoyarsk, Kursk, Novokuznetsk, Tyumen, Yekaterinburg and others.
