Studied at the Moskovsky District House of Children’s Artistic Education, Leningrad (1933–1936); Moscow Institute of Applied and Decorative Art (1944–1945); the Repin Institute of Arts (1945–1951) in the Faculty of Sculpture under V. A. Sinaisky, A. T. Matveev and B. E. Kapliansky; the Art Studio of the V. P. Kapranov Palace of Culture (1936–1941, 1951–1972) under O. A. Sidlin. Exhibited since 1935. Member of the associations Khramovaia stena (Temple Wall, 1992) and Free Culture Partnership (2005). Worked as a sculptor in the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Art Fund (1951–1961); as a tour guide (1978–1981); director of the Sidlin School creative organisation attached to the Soiuzstroiservis association (1987–1995). Taught at Leningrad Civil Engineering and Construction Institute (1961–1965); Leningrad Boarding School for Blind and Visually Impaired Children (1961–1976); taught and worked as a researcher at the A. I. Herzen State Pedagogical Institute (1965–1976); teacher and head of the studio “Artist” Amateur Association at the V. A. Shelgunov Palace of Culture (1976–1992); teaches at the Khramovaia stena (Temple Wall) school (since 1992); founder and teacher of the Kosmicheskaia garmoniia (Cosmic Harmony) school (since 2004). WWII veteran. Lives and works in St Petersburg (since 1928).
