Studied at Leningrad Art College (1949–1953) under G. A. Shakh; the Repin Institute of Arts (1953–1959) in the Faculty of Painting under I. A. Serebriany. Exhibited from 1959. Member of the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Union of Artists (1964). Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation (2008). WWII veteran, awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd class, and medals For Courage, For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945.
