Novikov Georgy Alexandrovich

Painter, graphic artist, theatre artist
Studied at Petrograd Technical Drawing School – State Free Art Workshops (1916–1919); the State Training Workshops for the Decorative Arts, Petrograd (1921–1922) in the Faculty of Theatre. Exhibited from 1930. Member of the Masters of Analytical Art association (1929– 1930). Worked as production designer in the amateur theatre of the Progress Railway Club in Novosokolniki (1923–1925), the amateur theatre in Velikiye Luki (1925–1929), in Leningrad theatres and the Opera Studio of the Conservatoire (1930s); as an artistic designer of public festivities (1930s) and shop windows (late 1940s–1950s). Taught at secondary school No. 120 (from the late 1940s). Main collections: State Russian Museum (St Petersburg), Pskov and Izborsk Integrated Museum- Reserve.
