Studied at Leningrad Secondary School of Art (1950–1956); the Repin Institute of Arts (1956–1957); Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinema (1957–1961) in the Faculty of Theatre Production under I. G. Segal. Exhibited since 1962. Member of the USSR Union of Artists (1970), the St Petersburg Academy of Contemporary Art association (1996), the Beznadezhnye zhivopistsy (Hopeless Painters) group (2002). Worked as an artist at the Arts and Design Workshops of the Leningrad Branch of the RSFSR Art Fund (1960s, 1977–1986); production designer in the Nizhny Tagil Drama Theatre (1961–1962), in Leningrad Kamernyi balet (Chamber Ballet) troupe (1968–1969), the Choreographic Miniatures troupe (1974), at the V. F. Komissarzhevskaia State Academic Drama Theatre (1992) and elsewhere. Taught at Leningrad Civil Engineering and Construction Institute (1970–1977), the Art Studio of the S. M. Kirov Palace of Culture (1986–1991), St Petersburg State Academy of Theatre Art (2007–2011). Lives and works in St Petersburg.
